Merry Christmas from Jamie

by | Dec 23, 2022 | News

This December is a time of change for our family. As we journey in this calling, we hold to what is true of our lives, God is good… Jesus Christ is King.

I took my daughter Regan to Bethany Tabernacle in New Castle to experience the joy of serving others. As she waited to hand out dinners, I watched her look at the door expecting people to walk in, eager to serve them dinner. This is waiting with hope. This is waiting with expectation of coming good. I explained to my daughter this is how we “Wait on the Lord.” When we “wait” on the Lord, we are not tuned out, going about our business…. We are looking for Christ, waiting with expectation for the Holy Spirit to move, eager to see what good the Lord will bring in the situation. We do not always get to see the good, and sometimes situations can be very hard, but we know as Joseph told his brothers, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” Genesis 50:20. God is always at work.

We know the Lord is always working because we can see His eternal plan unfolding in our lives. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

Life everlasting, Christ in us the Hope of Glory, this is our strength for the day.

Over 2000 years ago, God laid aside His glory, to become human, and live a perfect human life to be the sacrifice required for our sins, that we might be free from sin, and live with God for all eternity.

My family and I cherish this truth. We cherish Christmas. We certainly have our traditions. We gather around and play board games, we watch cooking shows, we hang out with families, we drive and see the lights, we invite any who would like to join us for dinner to come… but our favorite times are our devotionals, where our kids get to share their thoughts on the greatest gift ever given… Christ.

Luke 2:8-12 – “Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

As my team prepares for the coming official announcement, we keep in mind these truths. We bring to the State of Indiana hope. We do not shy away from the moral tragedy that is occurring in our Country. We instead speak life and share the plan to stand for Goodness

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21

We will bring our plan to strengthen the family unit, revive our small towns, emphasize on investors in the private sector helping communities and businesses, look to churches and organize efforts to care for community, we will confront the dependency on government, stand against divisions, and lead our country like a City on a Hill, with the courage of the people of Indiana as we Rebuild! Revive! Rejoice!

Merry Christmas Indiana!
